| Physical Description | Telas is tall, sporting a muscular build with a broad chest, wide shoulders, toned, muscular arms, with tight six pack abs. He has slightly tanned skin, black curly hair, a full, black beard hiding a square jaw with a minor cleft chin. Many say that he has an intense, even hypnotic gaze especially with his deep black pupil-less eyes, he inherited from his Betazoid mother and the typical pointed ears and pencil thin eyebrows from his Vulcan father. He has an almost perpetual '5 o'clock shadow' even 20 minutes after shaving, so he prefers a trim, full beard. |

Personality & Traits
| General Overview | Telas is highly motivated, driven, focused, and is extremely strong willed. He displays the mentality, logic, and work ethic common to his Vulcan lineage but also has the Betazoid propensity of keen insight, honesty (to the point of bluntness), gusto, and zest for life, though he tries to moderate the latter two, which is telling of his Kholinar training. He is sometimes at odds within his own mind, having to straddle the extremely intense emotions and suppression thereof, that is common to Vulcans, and the openly honest and expressive nature of his Betazoid heritage. He strives to balance both as best he can, specifically using his Kholinar training and Betazoid meditation techniques learned from the best Telepathic Masters on Betazed. With his incredibly powerful psychic abilities, it is often difficult for him to do so, specifically under large amounts of strain/stress or duress. Telas has a strong sense of morality, honesty and justice, as logic dictates, but has a tendency to be compassionate, merciful, and reassuring when he needs to be. Telas is usually found sitting in the Officer’s Mess, reading the latest scientific or technical journal in his areas of expertise, usually to try and both drown out what his fellow crew members are thinking (that which his Kholinar and Betazoid telepathic training can’t block out) and to stay up to date with the latest scientific and technological findings. While under extreme stress or duress, Telas has been known to get overwhelmed by the thoughts of those around him and sometimes can even inadvertently project his own thoughts and feelings to those nearby. Since the aftermath of Wolf 359, he has found that his telepathic powers have… grown significantly, sometimes needing the assistance of a paracortical dampener. |

| Strengths & Weaknesses | Strengths: Highly self motivated, disciplined, very strong willed, highly intelligent, insightful, focused, highly logical, loyal, honest, compassionate and is an extremely powerful and learned telepath (both Vulcan and Betazoid disciplines). Weaknesses: Loss of control of his telepathic abilities while under severe strain or distress, doesn’t take anything at face value. Highly logical therefore is highly dependent on numbers and formulae. Telas also has a habit of being bluntly honest and has a tendency of disregarding emotional considerations. Post Wolf 359, his telepathic powers have grown considerably stronger, sometimes causing physical “outbursts” when his emotions flare. |

| Hobbies & Interests | Telas enjoys reading technical manuals of any engineering disciplines, specifically those he has degrees in, scientific journals, literature and poetry form many different races across the Federation, specifically those from Vulcan, Betazed, and Terra. He also enjoys Suus Mahna, Sha’mura training, meditation and telepathy. He has also recently begun playing the Ka’athyra (Vulcan lute). |
| Personal History | Telas was born on Vulcan in the year 2312 in the capital city of ShiKahr where he trained for 10 years with a Vulcan Kholinar master who taught him to control his emotions and his newfound telepathic powers using Kholinar discipline and techniques to suppress his emotions. During this time, he also learned a reverence and passion for mathematics, engineering, and science from his Mentor, Master Gelar, an ancient and wizened Master of Kholinar discipline and the Mind Meld. At 16, after his Master passed away, Telas left Vulcan with his parents to live on Betazed where his mother was the Scion of the Eighth House, the House of Intuition, home to the most powerful telepaths on Betazed. Here he attended the University of Betazed and the Satellite Campus of the Vulcan Academy of Sciences where he received Bachelor’s Degrees Magna Cum Laude in Computational and Applied Mathematics, Computer Programming, and Astrophysics, with a Minor in Quantum Mechanics. After graduating in 2334, Telas applied to the Betazed Branch of Starfleet Academy and was accepted. He attended the Engineering and Science program tracks for his Masters Degrees, eventually graduating in 2340 with Masters Degrees in Computer, Electrical, Mechanical, and Structural Engineering. While there, he also worked with the most learned and prominent telepathic masters available on Betazed. His telepathic powers were increasing and he needed to learn greater control over them and his emotions lest he hurt someone. After receiving his Masters’ degrees from the Betazed Sattelite Campus, Telas eventually transferred to Starfleet Academy’s Main Campus on Earth in 2340, eventually graduating Summa Cum Laude in 2350 with PhD’s in Warp Systems Engineering, Particle Physics, and Quantum Mechanics, specializing in Probability Mechanics and Quantum Field Theory. While serving aboard the USS Cambridge, he and the crew participated in the Battle of Wolf 359 and was one of the few survivors of the over 11,000 casualties of the massacre at the hands of Locutus and the Borg. After a year of rehabilitation and recuperation, Telas has been assigned with his former CO and friend Captain Vott Mrall, to the Springfield class starship, USS Mohawk as XO. |
