| Personal History | In Phoenix, Arizona, born to William and Barbara Morrison, their only child. Being born into a medical family, it was decided that their son, named after his father, who was named after his father, would become a doctor to keep the Morrison line alive. At the age of 4, young William played with his father's stethoscope, listening to the family dog's heartbeat. In kindergarten, he was, according to the teacher, the brightest child in the class. He was able to pick up numbers and words quickly. He was reading at a third grade level. When he entered first grade, he was taller than the others. Again, the lessons were easy for him. He learned numbers, words and languages easily. He could speak fluent French and Spanish. It was decided, by his parents, the school's counselor and the teacher, that Bill would skip third grade and go right to fourth. There was some discussion about moving him right to fifth grade, but his parents decided not to put too much pressure on the young boy. At home, when he wasn't exercising, he was reading his parents medical journals. The fourth grade was more of the same, he was the smartest child in the class, and the tallest. Because he was so much smarter than the rest of the class, he was shunned by the other students. Some of the older boys in the school tried to pick fights with him, even though he was the tallest boy in the school, and the strongest. The bullies would try to start fights, but he could easily duck and block any attacks. His parents then decided to place Will in a private school, where he could develop at his own pace. There were other students who had been going through the same thing Will had been going through. It was here he made friends. The classes at the new school actually challenged him for a change. He worked hard and got good grades. When he was 16, he graduated from this school and entered college, the University of Arizona. The college had medical courses, that Will signed up for. That and a advanced curriculum, challenged Will. It had been decided by his parents, that Will would go to Harvard Medical to start his medical career. He stayed at UA for 2 years, then left to go to Harvard. In addition to his grades at Harvard, he continued his education at AU. In 1 year, he completed his studies at AU, getting his degree. In 3 years, he got his Medical Degree from Harvard. His parents wanted him to pursue a career in the private sector. Will had other things in mind. He applied and was accepted to Starfleet Medical. |

| Service Record | Doctor William Morrison III, entered Starfleet Medical as a first year resident. He wanted to be a surgeon. But he wasn't going to be doing any surgery his first year. He went to classes. Took his tests. Went on rounds with doctors. Sometimes the attending would ask him about the patient. The other students would look at the charts. William did it from memory. The attending doctors were impressed by him, but they didn't tell him, they would just say 'Good job'. HIs second year he actually got into the OR. The patient had a compound fracture of his right femur. With the attending watching, William exposed the break, moved the broken bone back into place, and placed a rod to support the leg. Later that afternoon, he went to check the patient, along with the attending, to do a post operative examine. Everything was haling nicely, and the patient was alert and feeling fine. The second year, and the third year, he got more surgeries. He once had to replace a patient's heart with an artificial one. To this day, the patient is doing very well. William maintained his grades, had a couple of girlfriends and continued his great work. By the end of the third year, the Starfleet Medical Chief, called William into his office. He was given a choice: stay the fourth year, even though he had learned all he could, or graduate, with honors and a Medical Degree and a Surgical rating and be assigned to a starship. He choice the starship. |
