| Personal History | Born in 2333, T'Schuun was the unfortunate result of a one-time trist between her mother and the son of a very powerful Vulcan business family. At the time, both were attending Starfleet Academy. When T'Schuun's mother found out she was pregnant, her parents broke all ties with her, and Urvos--T'Schuun's father--left the Academy out of shame. He and T'Schuun have a tense relationship; they talk perhaps once or twice a year via subspace. He did try to make a relationship work with T'Schuun's mother, but she wanted nothing to do with him after she found out about his family's ties to Orion interests. Fortunately, Starfleet was much more accomodating. T'Schuun's mother gave birth to her daughter while serving at a research complex on Earth. Apart from a brief mission aboard the USS Redwood--one of the very last refit Constitution-class starships to be built--the two of them spent the vast majority of their time either on Earth or Vulcan. While on the Redwood, two came three after the adoption of Melissa Christianson, the captain's daughter. Said captain had been killed in action against pirates, and T'Schuun's mother was the only one to step forward to take guardianship of the girl. Given this upbringing, it is perhaps unsurprising that T'Schuun decided to enter Starfleet. Graduating in 2355, with honors, T'Schuun spent the first four years of her Starfleet service as part of the team finalizing technologies which would become part of the Galaxy-class. Her wife, Ariel Schoor--who had been T'Schuun's roommate since the first day at the Academy--was also on this team. In 2359, T'Schuun joined the crew of the Miranda-class USS Newman, and spent the next year patrolling the Federation border with the Cardassian Union, occasionally participating in actions against Cardassian vessels. Her service on the Newman came to an end in early 2361 when the ship was modified for civilian use. T'Schuun oversaw these modifications, thus earning herself a promotion at their conclusion. Later that year, T'Schuun joined the USS Atlantis, an Excelsior-class starship assigned to various duties in and around Klingon space. It was during this time that she developed an interest in Klingon language and culture. Eighteen months later, T'Schuun and her wife both took leave from Starfleet to welcome in their daughter, Ariadne. Subsequent to this, T'Schuun's wife Ariel chose assignments that would place her nearer Earth, and at her urging, T'Schuun took an assignment on the USS Uruk, one of the new Nebula-class starships. This posting lasted until mid 2367, when T'Schuun transferred to the USS Castro, Excelsior-class, out of a desire to be closer to her wife and daughter. |
