| General Overview | Kara may look like she belongs in a bikini on a Risan pleasure resort, but the way she approaches her job shows a professionalism that most don't presume at first glance. Although her methods may be occasionally unconventional, she cares deeply about the wellbeing of her patients and the mental health of those around her. | |
| Strengths & Weaknesses | Kara is intuitive, considerate, thoughtful, and intelligent. She excelled in her studies and is passionate about what she does. She will do anything - absolutely anything - to help those who need it. At least, anything that doesn't compromise her own personal sense of ethics. Her ethics, however, don't always line up with Starfleet's ethics. For example, Kara's attitude toward sex is much more casual and relaxed than most races that she works with, and she has been known to prescribe sexual escapades on the holodeck as a means of stress relief. |

| Personal History | Kara was born and raised on Risa. She had a relatively normal Risan childhood, with living parents and an older brother with whom she has a close bond. She decided to leave Risa to explore and learn more about people and the universe around her... at least, more than she could learn from Risa's many visitors. She applied to join Starfleet and aced the entrance exam - especially the psych test. Kara found her passion in helping people, and decided that a focus in Counseling was the best fit for her interests and abilities. Prior to joining Starfleet, she had completed a degree in therapeutic counselling on Risa, and she found that helping people was something that motivated her and made her feel complete. It did, however, take her some time to adjust to Starfleet's guidelines for professional sexual conduct, in particular when they clashed with her Risan therapy training. |
